DI               in English translates as:               of, ‘s
A                                                                          at, to
DA                                                                       from, since
IN                                                                        in, to, into
CON                                                                    with

TRA/FRA                                                           between

When followed by an article:

DI, A, DA, IN, SU always contract with the article to form a single word.
CON occasionally contracts.
PER, TRA and FRA don’t contract.

NOTE: DI+article followed by a noun means “some” “a few of”:

Example:
